Letora settings, explained

Tap the gear at the top of any Letora screen to open Settings. Here is what every setting does, in simple words.

Languages

Translate into. The languages you already understand. When you tap a word, Letora explains it in these languages. You can pick more than one.

Default audiobook language. The language your audiobooks are spoken in. Letora uses it for new books. Each book can have its own language on its page. Podcasts tell Letora their language themselves.

Word help

Online explanations. When this is on, Letora asks a helper on the internet (Google's Gemini) to explain the words you tap. It sends only the words you picked and a little of the text around them, never your audio. When it is off, your iPhone explains words by itself, if it has Apple Intelligence.

Delete online data. Removes the words Letora sent online and turns online help off. Your books and saved words stay on your iPhone.

Playback

Skip buttons. What the two jump buttons do: go back or forward one sentence, or a few seconds.

Auto-play next chapter. When a chapter ends, the next one starts by itself.

Smart rewind. When you press Play after a break, Letora goes back to the start of the sentence, so you don't lose the thought. After longer breaks it goes back a little more.

Lock-screen Save rewinds. When you save from the lock screen, Letora goes back this many seconds first, so you keep what you just heard.

Appearance

Light, dark or system. A bright screen, a dark screen, or whatever your iPhone uses.

Colour theme. The colours Letora uses. Pick the one you like.

Font, size and spacing. How the text looks while you read. You see a preview as you change it.

Storage

How much space Letora uses on your iPhone, and which books and episodes use it. To free space, delete a book or a download. Your saved words stay.

Privacy

Help improve Letora. When this is on, Letora sends small anonymous counts, like how many days you listened or how many words you looked up. Never your name, your text, your saved words or your audio. It is off unless you choose it, and you can turn it off anytime.
